Vortex Optics Defender™ Flip Cap Objective 44

The Vortex Defender Flip Cap Eyepiece has received mixed reviews from customers. Some customers have praised its retention system, stating that it stays closed and fits their scopes perfectly. Others have found that the latch part is too tight, causing the cover to come off the scope before it unlatches. One customer mentioned purchasing the Vortex Defender for their Hawke 44mm objective, as they couldn't use the Hawke all-metal screw-in cover with a killflash piece. They found the Vortex cover to be of cheaper quality compared to the Hawke, but it fit perfectly and will serve its intended purpose. Another customer had been searching for an objective lens cover that fits a Burris 42mm OL and found that the Vortex Defender was a snug fit. They expressed satisfaction with their initial purchase but noted that the real test will be how it performs in the field during the winter. However, there have also been negative reviews. One customer mentioned that once the covers are put on, they should not be taken off as they stretch out the rubber and can easily be lost in the field. They expressed frustration at the money wasted on lost scope covers. Another customer found that the Vortex Defender was too small for their 50mm objective, with the rubber splitting after minimal use. Overall, the reception of the Vortex Defender Flip Cap Eyepiece has been mixed. While some customers have had positive experiences with its fit and retention system, others have had issues with its size and durability.
