- Evvel zaman içinde kalbur saman içinde, Goku yedisi bir araya geldiği zaman verdiği tek dilek hakkını istisnasız bir şekilde gerçeğe dönüştüren Şenlong adındaki ejderhayı ortaya çıkaran gizemli ejder toplarını aramak için bir yolculuğa çıkıp büyük bir macera yaşadıktan sonra bütün topları toplamayı başarır. Ejder topları, Pilaf Çetesi’nin kötü emellerine alet olmasın diye Goku ve arkadaşları hızlı davranıp Şenlong’dan saçmasapan bir dilekte bulunurlar. Şenlong hemen o anda bu dileği yerine getirip bir yıl boyunca tekrar ortaya çıkmayacak şekilde yok olur. Bu boşluğu değerlendirmek isteyen Goku, Kame-Sennin’den eğitim alır ve tekrar ejder toplarını aramak üzere maceraya atılır. Goku, üç yılık yoğun eğitim sonrasında Tenkaiçi Budoukai’ye katılır ve ikinci olmayı başarır.
