Dünya Savaşı ortasında kaleme alır, çalışmasına savaşla başa çıkma yöntemim der, ama bu makale aynı zamanda Weil'e cevap niteliğindedir. Ayrıca, Bespaloff'un Homeros destanını Kitab-ı Mukaddes'le, şairleri de peygamberle ilişkilendirmesi başlı başına bir katkı olarak görülmektedir.
