svara: Yes, the leather used in these boots comes from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. -

Are these boots heavy? Do they have good arch support?
svara: These boots are really light and super comfortable. The arch support is better than any other boots I have had. This is the second pair of Keen boots I have owned and have been nothing but happy with them! -

svara: These boots are in medium D width, wp stands for waterproof. Yeah, they are a wide fit and very comfortable. -

I am size 8.5 in Keen Whisper sandals, but I usually buy size 9 hiking boots (currently Merrill). So for Keen hiking boots, should I go with 8.5 or 9?
svara: I wear a Keen 8.5 and have for decades. I went with a 9 one summer b/c my feet had changed a bit. I wore the size 9 for easy hikes and day use for 3 years. I went back to the 8.5 when it was time to replace. -

I generally wear a 9. Should I order a 9.5?
svara: Any shoe you wear during prolonged physical activity should be about a half size larger than a dress or everyday shoe. I wear an 8 1/2 everyday shoe, so I ordered a 9 and it fits perfect with a little extra room. -

Is this Raven color more brown or gray?
svara: The Raven/Opaline color leans towards a gray color. -

With my 8.5 wide sneakers, an 11 mile hike had my feet throbbing from the swelling. Should I order a size 9 for long hikes such as these?
svara: Generally, the boots get a little wider the more you wear them, or at least that is what happens to me. I, personally, would not order larger; I would order your normal size and then break the boots in by wearing them before you hike. -

I wear an 8.5 wide. Do they fit small? Should I 'size up'?
svara: I also wear an 8.5 wide. I went for these in a size 9, and I'm very happy with the way they fit! It isn't so much that they fit small, but I was in an REI store and the assistant said to always buy 1/2 size larger in hiking boots. -

It says composite toe, so I ordered them for work just got them, and they are a soft toe. So they are a soft toe?
svara: If it's metal you're looking for, no, it's not a hard toe. It's hard rubber. -

How is the size? True or should I size up?
svara: I found mine true to size and comfortable from the first day.
