svara: I don't recommend this model as they don't cut smoothly and squeak with every cut. The lock gets in my way too. -

svara: Since to me they are a regular pair of scissors with a spring........I see no reason why they couldn't be sharpened. -

svara: Before you try to cut leather, please talk to a person at Gingher & ask the question first. Gingher has great scissors. I Love them, that's all I use & they last a long time when you take care of them. Good Luck -

svara: I believe they're all made in Germany. Third pair I've had & all the packages have said Germany.
