Earth Defense Force 5 is a fun game and a good addition to the EDF series. It has the best frame rate in the series and a funny plot about aliens invading Earth with giant killer insects. There's a huge variety of weapons and play styles available with a satisfying gameplay loop. The only downside is the random dialogue of NPCs which has occasional xenophobic rhetoric about immigrants. This detracts from the overall experience, but the game is still worth a try.
