This pond vacuum is designed to be a steady pond cleaning tool that removes sludge and debris without harming your fish or disrupting the delicate aquatic habitat. Routine use of a pond vacuum cleaner allows you to perform regular pond maintenance and cleaning without the hassle of draining your entire pond. The ClearVac handles debris up to 3/8 of an inch, or about the size of a standard marble. Before using pond vacuum cleaners, we recommend removing large leaves, twigs, acorns, and other larger debris with a pond net. The ClearVac pond vacuum for outdoor ponds features a dual-chamber reservoir and an auto-discharge feature, providing continuous use without waiting through time-consuming discharge cycles. Our pond vacuum for koi ponds, water gardens, and other small ponds comes with four vacuum attachments, five rigid extension tubes, and a 13-foot power cord. With the clear intake extension, you can monitor the debris going into the pond sludge vacuum. The Pond Guy ClearVac fishpond vacuum can be used in any koi pond, water garden, or water feature to perform regular maintenance as a pond muck and sludge remover. These convenient pond cleaners can be used regularly without removing the fish from the pond. FAQ What are the largest leaves the vacuum can remove? The ClearVac pond vacuum is designed to remove pond muck, leaves, algae, and debris up to 3/8, or about the size of a dime. The vacuum is ideal for small to medium-sized debris such as pine needles and small leaves. Larger leaves, twigs, acorns, and other large items should be removed with a pond net before vacuuming. What do I do with the water I vacuum out? Do not return water from the discharge hose back to the pond. Returning the water will only return the excess nutrients, muck, and small debris. The discharge hose and debris bag can be safely run to nearby landscape or garden beds. The excess nutrients removed from the pond make excellent fertilizer for plants. Where do I place my ClearVac? For best results, position the ClearVac at or near water level. You will achieve optimal suction if the unit is placed at the same level as the water. How much water will I lose with each use? You should expect about a 10-25% loss of water. This pond vacuum is designed to be a controlled cleaning tool, so you can clean your pond without disrupting your fish or the aquatic habitat, all without draining your entire pond. Can I use an extension cord with the pond vacuum? Yes, the ClearVac can be used with an extension cord, but it must be a 10- or 12-gauge outdoor-rated extension cord no longer than 50 feet.
