This carburetor is confirmed to fit a Stihl MS170 with some basic modification to the saw. One impulse port needs to be unplugged and another needs to be plugged, as well as a cork plug for an air intake on the saw. The throttle linkage also needs slight modification and holes need to be drilled out in the plastic cover to locate and tune the carburetor. Additional "fin" in the muffler on the clutch side will also help increase power. However, there have been mixed reviews on this product. One customer reported that the saw started running poorly after only a dozen pieces of wood were cut. Another customer was disappointed that the carburetor did not come with a gasket. Despite mixed reviews, some customers did note the good quality of the carburetor.
